Spike was a living example that good people do shine brightly. No matter what he tried or did he was always a good person first and an athlete second. I only knew him through sports but you could sense he was a special teammate with a spirit that was bigger than life. I was so sad to hear of his passing. I was blessed to have known him and played football with him for several years. Although his time on earth was short it touched more than he could have known.
